Today is international Gregor Mendel Day. My day! I’m here to give you a brief overview about this week’s events in my honor:
The Mendel Walk will take place on Zoom (some modern online tool, I hear) on Thursday with J. Vollmann, A. Wiedermann, B. Fischer, O. Mittelsten-Scheid and many more, focusing on the scientific history and its places in Vienna. It is organized by the Gregor Mendel Society of Vienna.
The Symposium on Friday is about Science Communication with H. Bürstmayr, G. Mészáros, J. Sölker and Günther Mayr (Head ORF Science) as well as about applied genetics for humans, animals and plants. I wish I could join this fascinating talk.
Finally, my very own bust will be revealed at the BOKU Vienna on Friday. I feel very honored, though a bit concious.
